County streamlines Loma Prieta Community Center Project
The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors approved a request from the Loma Prieta Joint Union School District that was advanced by Supervisor Joe Simitian that streamlines restoration of the permanent Loma Prieta Community Center.

County Supervisors support public safety and ‘community building’ with Loma Prieta community center project
To enhance emergency services and community resources in the Loma Prieta area – particularly in the event of an earthquake, wildfire or a PG&E power outage, the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a 1:2 County matching grant proposed by County Supervisor Joe Simitian to support the restoration of the Loma Prieta Community Center on its North Campus to replace a prior community center on its South Campus which was destroyed by fire in 2015.

Supervisors seek to improve wireless connections and safety for residents in fire-prone areas
The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors approved a proposal by County Supervisor Joe Simitian that seeks to ensure service is maintained to wireless customers in wildfire-prone areas during a disaster or power outage. In times of emergency and disaster, wireless networks are critical infrastructure for emergency response.
