Mountain View Cold Weather Shelter open through mid-April
Santa Clara County’s Mountain View Cold Weather Shelter Program extends its service season through mid-April. In addition to shelter beds, the program also provides meals, laundry, showers, and case management for community members who are unhoused.
County supports student initiatives at Mountain View Los Altos High School District
The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors approved a proposal by County Supervisor Joe Simitian to provide funding to the Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District. The grant is for a student leadership academy and student-run clothing closet at Alta Vista High School in Mountain View.

In 2023, the Office of County Supervisor Joe Simitian made real progress on issues championed related to health care, affordable housing, land use, education, community safety, and support for seniors and people with developmental disabilities — to the benefit of folks in District Five and countywide.
Measure A funding brings more affordable housing to North County
The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors voted to invest up to $31.4 million in three affordable housing developments in North County, with funding largely drawn from the Measure A Affordable Housing Bond voters approved in 2016. The Board also approved the real estate purchase of 1265 Montecito Avenue in Mountain View for the development of Montecito Multifamily Apartments, another Measure A-funded affordable housing development.
Supervisors fund North County health clinic
Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors approve $18.5 million allocation for North County health clinic improvements. It will be the first North County health clinic to be established.
North County dental services receive continued support with El Camino Healthcare District Grant
El Camino Healthcare District’s Community Benefit Program has provided a grant to Santa Clara Valley Healthcare to allow more children, adults and seniors in the North County to receive preventative dental services and maintain oral health.
